  Java English Competition (JEC) 2025 IS COMING

            Java English Competition (JEC) 2025 is an annual flagship event hosted by the Student Association of the English Education Department (HIMA PBI), Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA). Designed to showcase the academic spirit and excellence of the English Education Study Program, this competition also serves as a platform to empower students from various educational levels to cultivate and demonstrate their English language skills.
            With a strong commitment to nurturing English proficiency, JEC 2025 focuses on the four core language skills: writing, speaking, listening, and reading. It aims not only to enhance students' confidence in using English but also to help schools and universities promote their achievements and gain wider public recognition. Furthermore, participants stand a chance to win prestigious awards and cash prizes worth millions of rupiah, making the competition both intellectually rewarding and highly motivating.
            Based on a thorough evaluation of previous editions, several improvements have been introduced this year to ensure an inclusive and engaging experience. JEC 2025 features five competition categories across various educational levels:
1. Speech Contest – for Junior and Senior High School students (SMP & SMA)
2. Story Telling – for Junior High School students (SMP)
3. English Olympiad – for Junior and Senior High School students (SMP & SMA)
4. Poster Design – for Senior High School students (SMA)
5. Essay Writing – for University students (Mahasiswa)
            This year, JEC will be conducted in a hybrid format, Offline Competitions: Speech Contest, Story Telling, and English Olympiad (including semi-final and final rounds), and Online Competitions: Poster and Essay (conducted fully online, with direct final judgment and no semi-final stage. All competitions will culminate in the final awarding ceremony on Saturday, 11 October 2025, where winners will be announced after a transparent and rigorous evaluation by a qualified panel of judges.

Once and Forever, the Indonesian Republic      Every 10th of November, Indonesians celebrate Heroes Day. This day is aimed at commemorating the battle of Surabaya, a battle that was elicited by the "comeback" of the Dutch after being evicted by the Japanese who then occupied Indonesia three years before.  CULTURAL EXCHANGE 2025             Surabaya, June 12, 2025-Cultural Exchange was successfully held. The event was held by the English Language Education Department and Pusat Pengembangan Bahasa, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. This event was held at three places, the first place was at the Student Central building, on the 4th floor of FTK, and the library. Attended by almost all parts of the English Language Education Study Program Student Association, student representatives from BIPA class (Bahasa Indonesia Penutur Asing), student representatives from other departments, and also attended by the Head of the PBI Study Program, Ma'am Rahmawati, M.pd and Ma'am Rizka Safriyani, M.Pd, and the Head of Language Department, Moh.
